Interactive Video Art at The Dissenters Gallery Catacombs

On Saturday 4 July, 11-5pm, a chance to see the work of local video artist Michael Speechley.

Michael Speechley is back at the Dissenters Chapel for the Kensal Green Cemetery Open Day on Saturday 4 July exhibiting an interactive video piece in the dark recesses of the catacombs.

Some of you will know Michael for his VJ and live visuals work in Acklam Village, Loft Studios and Mode but this time we have a rare chance to see the other side of his work in an unusual and hidden local setting.

The piece on show, Progress IV works with the theme of loss and regeneration and in this form is designed to encourage the viewer to think about how Dementia, Alzheimer’s and mental health effect both the sufferer and the people around them. The work is presented as the first part of a larger project dealing with the subject in collaboration with sculptor Zoë Landau Konson (zoeelle.com).

The Dissenters Gallery and Dissenters Chapel

The entrance to the Dissenters Gallery can be found at the top of Ladbroke Grove (Harrow Road end) just past the bridge over the canal and opposite the Innocent Drinks building and entrance to the Dock Kitchen restaurant and Tom Dixon shop. Look for the black iron gate, it will be open on the day.
