The William IV pub on the Harrow Rd. served last drinks on Sunday night as the pub was sold to a new management team. Regulars attended the quietly promoted event until half past midnight.

A local star has died

 
A piece of our collective imagination has been sliced away – Michael Jackson is no longer with us. MJ is a modern star, the true superstar of the media age. I'm in my mid forties and like everyone else in the western world I grew up with Michael Jackson. He is from this generation and of the others who came after. In that sense there's something truly unique about his status.

20th Century Theatre is back

The 20th Century Theatre is having a massive bash on April the 24th. Speakeasy is the first of a new series of events to be held at this excellent venue. Dj's, live performances and even an after hours peep show. As if that wasn't enough there's also a free cocktail hour from 8pm with Mr Ducktail of “Its Something Hell” offering free cuts in the barbershop foyer. Not to be missed, this event is putting this venue firmly back on the West London venue track.

Big Linda are back at the William IV

 

Up and coming rock talent Big Linda will be headlining a party at the William IV on May the 9th- see them in a small pub in west London or queue up for tickets to see them for £1500 in the back row at the O2 centre next week. Also appearing DJ PJ , better known through the dance outfit Sancho Panza. This is a very promising night with a bands, dj's and dancers. More details to follow soon. Watch this space.

KTF gig tickets available on-line In a move to make it easier for people to attend the 'Give me Shelter' night, the KTF teamed up with a web outlet to make some tickets available on-line. 'The on-line sale is done at no extra cost and it's a great way for everyone to have a chance to get a ticket', says one of the locals involved with the gig.

CLASH LEGEND SET TO ROCK KENSAL GREEN FOR ONE-OFF CHARITY GIG

 
Clash legend Mick Jones is just part of an eclectic bill of artists who will be performing a special one-off charity event at William IV, Kensal Green, London, on Friday, March 13th. 
 
The event, ‘Give Me Shelter’ is the fifth in a series of events from KensalTownFund, a charity group launched in 2005 in response to the Asia Tsunami, which supports charities all around the world. 
 
The March event will be in aid of Shelter and WaterAid, with all proceeds and 50% of the bar takings going to charity. Mick Jones, the former Clash and Audio Dynamite front man, will appear with his new band, The Rotting Hill Gang, which was formed early last year.

The fabulous KensalTownFund have been raising cash locally for lots of causes internationally particularly those supported by locals. This summer they gave money to the Pandaw appeal in Burma, following the devastating cyclone. Friends of local people are running the charity: please have a look at :
