'Loco Cabaret' is a fortnightly Saturday evening event held downstairs at The Grand Union.
Featuring a host of the finest bands, songwriters and musicians from the local area, as well as from further afield. It aims to always provide a full and exciting line-up that will keep even the most hardened cynics fully entertained.
Billed as 'An Evening of Musicke and Mayhem', Loco Cabaret includes talented instrumentalists, singer-songwriters and poets in an ecclectic mix that somehow always produces a righteously rocking show, interspersed with soul, acoustic, rap and alternative acts.
Since their first show on Saturday 15th January, it showcased over 55 different performers and now, the event will be celebrating its 12th show this Saturday (18th June). A plethora of new acts performing at this show includes Jc Carroll (from The Members) performing with his Acoustic Trio in their West London début. Plus top quality acoustic rock music from singer/songwriter Adam Masterson, the inspirational instrumental music/songs of Paul Browse and a first-time performance from singer/songwriter Simone Alexander.
Regulars performing include a soulful set from Karin Fransson who will be releasing her first album 'Private Behaviour' on July 5th at the Green Carnation, W1, as well as a first-time performance from her brother, Peter. Other regulars include Project Roxanne, an alternative/rock act fresh from playing The Proud Gallery in Camden, unbelievable soul singer/rapper Cuthbert 80, lovely singing from Emma Lyndon-Stanford, Hendrix-inspired super guitarist Roger Pomphrey and friends, well-crafted tunes by acoustic singer-songwiter Paul Riley and regular performers Neil, Jono & Michael AKA Freak Elite.
The night is hosted as ever by Dan Antrobus and James Simmins who will also be entertaining you with a few numbers during the course of the evening. Sheema Huq will also be entertaining us with excerpts from her excellent poetry.
Doors open 7.30 pm and entrance is FREE! Maybe it's about time you should check it out! Recommended!
