Mr Brainwash exhibition at London Westbank

Mr Brainwash (Thierry Guetta) at the West Bank Gallery

Mr Brainwash (Thierry Guetta)  better known for his rather depressing role in Banksy’s "Exit Though the Gift Shop" is to have an exhibition at the London West Bank Gallery.

A Wikipidea page about him says “Many street artists and graffiti artists have spoken out against Guetta and his practice of allegedly stealing ideas from street artists and mainstream artists alike. Guetta also has come to symbolize the capitalist turn that street art has taken in recent years.”

Mr Brainwash and 40 fresh works on paper from Los Angeles to the Westbank Gallery. The preview night is from 6-10pm on Tuesday 15th October, 2 days before the official opening of Frieze and Moniker Art Festivals.

Completely fresh works on both floors of the gallery as well as some revisitations of his classic Mohammed Ali and Madonna and Britney Spears images but on a larger scale and on paper (also freshly painted) silkscreens.

Most of you will need no introduction to Mr. Brainwash, the French LA based film-maker turned artist who achieved worldwide recognition with Banksy's Oscar nominated film "Exit Though the Gift Shop" who has continued to rock the pop/street/urban art worlds ever since. Recent collaborators include Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sade, Dolce & Gabanna and many more.

For those of you who don't make the Preview Night, the show will be open to the public daily 11am til 7pm from the following day Wednesday 16th October until the 23d October 2013.

The preview is this Tuesday from 6 to 10 pm at the West Bank Gallery.

It would interesting to hear your opinions about his work.
