Have you ever thought of offering a family documentary? Here’s your chance with local start-up Love Your Stories.

Love Your Stories, a Kensal Rise-based start-up offering a professional life story documentation service using award-winning radio journalists with a scheme to support West London dementia care homes.

The service, founded by Kensal Rise-based entrepreneur Rowan Wilkinson, gives families the opportunity to document loved ones' life stories with the same skill, compassion and professionalism that would be applied to the latest item on the national media agenda.

With over eighty years of combined experience working for the BBC and eight major radio awards between them, the team of journalists conduct interviews and record personal stories before producing and editing them into broadcast-quality audio features which are then hosted alongside photographs on an interactive Love Your Stories Legacy web page - see example at www.loveyourstories.com/martin-levey

Passing on the life stories and learnings of those closest to us as a lasting legacy to family, friends and future generations is a hugely important and enriching experience. Unfortunately, whilst we are constantly bombarded with stories about the lives of others by the media, often, the life stories of our own family, friends and in particular, our ageing loved ones, remain untold and un-documented.”, said Rowan.

We’re therefore very excited to offer people the opportunity to use some of the best radio journalists in the business to document the life stories that matter most to us.

In a scheme called 'Memory for a Memory', Love Your Stories have pledged that for every set of memories documented, they will donate a memory aid product to a West London dementia centre to help a dementia sufferer through daily life struggling with memory loss. Memory aid donations include puzzles and games which stimulate memory, memorabilia packs, daily life aids, art books and music CDs.

The importance of memory is central to Love Your Stories. Sadly the number of people with dementia is steadily increasing in the UK. We want to help improve the quality of life for people affected by dementia by donating products which aid activity based care in some of the brilliant care centres which work in and around London.“, said Rowan.
