Local school comes up with original ways to raise money through an online auction. Lots include Joe Calzaghe Signed Cased Boxing Glove and a 1 hour broadcast on Jazz FM.

St Saviour’s School, Maida Vale, launched its pioneering live online auction to raise funds to maintain their key music, sports and art teaching staff. The global auction is on Ebay, with links to Twitter and Facebook. The exciting internet bidding is timed to finish during the night of the school’s annual auction on Friday 1 April.

Lots include: An opportunity to learn with the professionals and have your programme broadcast at Jazz FM, a fabulous week in a Cool Cornish Beach House, a signed Mick Jones copy of ‘London Calling’ by the Clash, Joe Calzaghe Signed Cased Boxing Glove and a Chelsea Shirt signed by 2002 squad.

a day’s professional training from the Chief Executive of Jazz FM, Richard Wheatly

The winner of the Jazz FM auction lot will receive a voucher to exchange for a day’s professional training from the Chief Executive of Jazz FM, Richard Wheatly (pictured), and other experts on how to prepare and present a show on a digital music radio station. The training will be in Jazz FM's 

Vauxhall studio on a date to be mutually agreed within 6 months of the end of the auction. The winner will then put together and record a one hour music show which will be broadcast on the station at a time to be determined by Jazz FM. With an audience of 1/2 million in the UK and many more worldwide this is certainly a great opportunity for many

 out there - This could be the gift of a lifetime for a jazz fan or an amazing opportunity for somebody wishing to get into the music business and be a great addition to a CV!

Headteacher, Ms Woodford said “Our specialist teachers are amazing but, unfortunately, we need to raise the £40,000 a year to pay for them.  I am so grateful to the PTA and all the parents for sharing our dream to provide outstanding lessons for our children.  We couldn’t do it without them!”

St Saviour’s school and dedicated PTA has embraced the use of, moderated, internet and social media to reach as wide an audience as possible, in its fundraising drives. This Friday’s auction night is tipped to be a thrilling highlight in the school’s year!
