Some of you already know local musician Ollie Jacobs . Now he's back with an album and video release by his band Arkarna and a tour in South East Asia.
They've been out of the spotlight for a few years working with the likes of Madonna, The Prodigy and Leftfield - now dance-rock supremos Arkarna are back with an incendiary comeback single featuring an incredibly fruity video, the likes of which you've never seen before....
Arkarna first hit the scene in 1997 with the critically-acclaimed, platinum-selling debut album Fresh Meat. But after touring the world to hundreds of thousands of fans, engineering child prodigy became disillusioned with the way major labels wanted to mould him, so went underground to make the kind of music that satisfied his soul - albeit for other artists.
But now with Dead On Arrival, lead vocalist and programmer Ollie Jacobs and guitarist Matt Hart are back to reclaim their crowns as the kings of guitar-powered dance pop.
With it's irresistible driving beats, soaring, dirt-soaked bass, razor-sharp guitar, a total earworm of a singalong chorus Dead On Arrival will be igniting dancefloors and moshpits the world over.
The video, made by promo Jedis DuckEye, who've previously made films for the likes of Zero7, Sigur Ros, the Fallout Trust and Clayhill, features Matt and
Ollie as adorable, stop-motion animated fruit characters is certain to become the world's next YouTube phenomena.
The band are geared up ready to make their live return before 22,000 adoring fans in October at one of the biggest music festivals in South East Asia, Java Rockin' Land - a natural decision considering their huge fan base out there. The three-day fest kicks off from October 8-10 on the Ancol Carnival Coast in north Jakarta where they will grace the main stage alongside The Smashing Pumpkins and Stereophonics. Yep, Arkarna are back with a bang right where they belong!
A live onslaught closer to home is currently being planned so in the meantime, get your lugholes around Dead On Arrival and welcome back the unique sound of Arkarna. It's going to slay you...
