A 12000 square foot open air exhibition of Street Art, giant Sculpture and Installations, fully licensed for 1250 people, underneath the West Way Road Bridge next to Portobello Road, Ladbroke Grove, London.
Following the success of
MuTATE BRITAIN: Behind the Shutters at the infamous Cordy House, the Mutate Britain team are pleased to announce One Foot in the Grove, an open air art event featuring new work from some of the world’s most prominent Street Artists, the sculpture of the legendry Mutoid Waste Company and catering from Fingerlick aka Andi Oliver and Neneh Cherry.
Entry to One Foot in the Grove will be free. The event takes art out of the gallery and onto the street where it’s presented in an atmosphere at that only a vibrant city can bring. A licensed bar, delicious fresh food and ambient music combine to make a leisurely environment where visitors are encouraged to spend time socializing and enjoying art.
The event will be a temporary home for
Joe Rush of the Mutoid Waste Company’s giant sculpture made from scrap metal including reclaimed military refuse such as Helicopters and MIG Fighter Jets – these works have to be seen to be believed! Visitors can amble around these huge installations, whilst interacting with works such as
Giles Walker’s Pole Dancing Robots and
Hear Colours’ unique computer aided three dimensional human face.
The walls of this imposing space will be home to a stunning array of new work from leading Street Artists. Visitors can expect to see surprise announcements aplenty and ambitious work from
Dotmasters,
Matt Small,
Best Ever, Pure Evil,
Paul Insect,
Teddy Baden,
Dr. D. Bleach,
The Krah, Part2ism, Snub 23, FarkFK and many more – all presenting the finest spray can, stencil and paste up street art on a massive scale.
With extensive seating areas and the chance to enjoy
finger-licking dishes like Andi Oliver and Neneh Cherry’s Honey Baked Chicken, fresh sushi and ground coffee there’s sure to be time and space to enjoy yourself. Joe Rush said, “Mixing our artwork into a big event where people have a good time makes it come alive, and that’s what we’re all about – making our work accessible by putting on a proper party.” Garfield Hackett said, “For us this is a home coming, Ladbroke Grove means a lot to Joe and I, now we’re back home to put on a show that we hope will be remembered for its inspiring art, inclusive atmosphere and all round good times.”
