A very independent film screening later today (13th) at The Lexi which was shot in Notting Hill and features Jaime Winstone and other up and coming actors. They and the director will be present for a Q&A as well. Its a great tribute to British indie cinema and a great networking event for anyone working in film and tv in the neighbourhood.
EVE is shot in contemporary London around Notting Hill and Portobello Market and featuring Jaime Winstone. This powerful thriller starkly exposes a couple’s relationship torn apart when their daughter is kidnapped, risking everything in their chase to find her. Out of the depths of violence a stranger comes looking for revenge, uncovering a dark past.
Unlike most British cinema, Eve has the pace and vitality to keep the audience on the edge of their seats. It draws on the finest aspects of European and American cinema to create the best suspence movie of the year.Jack Davies is an experienced filmmaker, with a string of award winning short films to his name. This is his first feature and won Best Narrative Film Award at last year’s Lighthouse International Film Festival.
Jack was the only UK finalist to be short listed for the Rolex Mentor Scheme with Stephen Frears. He has directed pop promos and short films for World’s End Television and Flextech. He is a graduate of Bournemouth Film School.
The Lexi Cinema is at 194 Chamberlayne Road, NW10 3JU.
