Portobello and Golborne Road markets - Seasonal Recipe Contest

For all the foodies out there! The English Apple Festival is on and there's a competition for the best seasonal recipe!

WIN a unique culinary experience at the award-winning local restaurant and oyster bar Le Café Anglais!

In honour of the English Apple Festival and in celebration of their shared commitment to the best and freshest seasonal ingredients, Portobello and Golborne Road markets have teamed up with celebrity chef Rowley Leigh (a ‘founding father of modern British cooking’) and his award-winning local restaurant Le Café Anglais to present a unique competition.

Whoever submits the best seasonal recipe, as judged by Rowley Leigh, will be invited behind the scenes at Le Café Anglais to design a special dish of the
day, followed by a free dinner for two with champagne at the restaurant’s new oyster bar. The winning recipes will also be featured on local Portobello food blog www.vegetableoftheweek.com.

Leaflets with official rules and complete details on how to enter are available at most fresh fruit and vegetable stalls in Portobello and Golborne Road markets, as well as a few select local independent shops (like the Spice Shop and Ceramica Blue, both in Blenheim Crescent, and Cash & Carry, 84 Golborne Road). The deadline for receipt of entries is Monday, 8 November 2010. The winner will be announced in early December and the prize must be claimed during January 2011.
